This position is for an experienced or professional land surveyor (PLS) that will lead survey field and office activities, operate survey instruments and collect various survey-level information in the field. The individual will be responsible for performing field quality control, performs office distillation of field data, all types of survey computations; preparation of TINs and surfaces, and final mapping in an AutoCAD or equivalent environment. This is a rotational, hourly full time position with both office and field work requirements. The individual will be responsible for leading and mentoring survey technicians on a periodic basis. The primary work location will be Red Dog Mine, on a rotational basis.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Weather: Indoors/Outdoors – frequent exposure to moderate to harsh weather conditions. Requires most work to be done outside.
Noise level: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
Physical requirements: Employee is required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift.
Travel: Employee will travel to remote areas and may be required to use alternative modes of transportation, including but not limited to snow machines, boats, small airplanes and ATVs.
