Job Description

 

The Project Controls Assistant performs general project controls related duties to support the Project Controls Manager. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to Project Controls / Project Management staff.
  • Support includeds, but not limited to, creating project summaries, managing company spreadsheets, running project reports.
  • Reconciling project budgets for invoicing.
  • Preparing draft invoices for review and submission to clients.
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
  • Other duties that are pertinent to the department’s success also may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in bookkeeping and cost accounting/project controls required.
  • Familiarity with Project Management-Scopes of Work, Schedules and Budgets
  • Advanced skillset in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams required.
  • Must be able to multi-task with frequent interruptions.
  • Must be able to perform responsibilities accurately, timely and with limited supervision.
  • A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under company vehicle insurance policy.

 

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Weather: Indoors - environmentally controlled; requires most or all work to be done inside.

Noise level: The noise level in the work environment is usually that of a standard office atmosphere.

Description of environment: Office building with standard office environment.

Physical requirements:  Employee is required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift.

Travel: Employee may travel to remote areas and may be required to use alternative modes of transportation, including but not limited to snow machines, boats, small airplanes and ATVs.

 

Competencies

  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing with employees and supervisor.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and proper budget tracking and management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups of employees, clients and vendors
  • Must possess a strong team orientation and willingness to assist in any area outside of the normal scope of this position.
