Job Description

Under general supervision, oversees multiple related projects or one larger project and directs  Engineering, Architectural, Environmental and Surveying  activities towards growth objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Administration and coordination
  • Project accounting and reporting
  • Find and develop new business in existing clients/project base
  • Project management, multiple projects or one larger project
  • Review and edit contracts and engineering agreements
  • Familiar with scope and project objectives
  • Familiar with the role and function of each team member
  • Coordinates activities of the team
  • Oversees project budgets for projects within the department
  • Develops annual budget forecast inputs for the department budget
  • Develops and manages project schedule
  • Responsible for all aspects of the project over the life of the project (initiate, plan, execute, control, close)
  • Generates construction documents
  • Takes active role in winning projects
  • Assembles project team
  • Assigns individual team members key responsibilities
  • Pricing, estimating, scoping, proposal writing, and development of marketing strategies
  • Identifies project resources needed
  • Integration of and migration towards Building Information Modeling tools in department deliverables.
  • Understanding of project management including Integration, Scope, Schedule, Budget and Project Accounting, Quality, Human Resources, Communication, Procurement and Risk.
  • This position has supervisory responsibilities.
  • Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit's success also may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor in engineering, architecture or a related discipline from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Registered professional engineer and or PMP in the desired.
  • Minimum five years experience in A/E business or project management.
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word or comparable programs.
  • Working knowledge of MS Project and MS Outlook of comparable programs.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a team atmosphere.
  • A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under company vehicle insurance policy.

Preferred Requirements

  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
  • Prefer completion of internal or equivalent project manager program

 

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Weather: Indoors - environmentally controlled; requires most or all work to be done inside.

Noise level: The noise level in the work environment is usually that of a standard office atmosphere.

Description of environment: Office building with standard office environment.

Physical requirements:  Employee is required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift.

Travel: None 

Travel may require an employee or contractor to pass a TSA security checkpoint.
